The Per Diem Clinical Assistant is responsible for direct care provided to patients and for contributing to efficient operations in the patient care environment. Direct patient care activities include, but are not limited to, obtaining vital signs, drawing and collecting blood samples and assisting nursing/medical staff in performing invasive procedures, such as bone marrow aspirates. Indirect patient care activities include those that support clinic operations such as ordering and stocking clinical supplies and patient education materials, transporting patients and specimens as needed, and monitoring the environment of care.   BSN students must have completed 2 clinical rotations towards your BSN degree prior to your start date.

  The Privacy Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and directing a comprehensive privacy program for DFCI in accordance with federal and state requirements and guidance, as well as Institute policies and procedures.  The privacy program shall be designed to ensure that DFCI has appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect (and access) the privacy of protected health information (PHI) and personal information (PI) and ensure patients' rights are protected in compliance with federal and state laws.  Such responsibilities include policy and procedure development and enforcement, training and education, and investigation and response to privacy issues and complaints.  The Privacy Officer will work closely with DFCI’s VP/Chief Compliance Officer, Information Security Officer (ISO), Health Information Services Director, and the Office of General Counsel.  The Privacy Officer serves as an Institute resource on the laws, regulations and internal policies pertaining to privacy, health information and PI.  The job requires a combination of investigations work and project-based work.  The Privacy Officer will be responsible for providing leadership and direction of privacy-related committees or groups as directed by the VP/Chief Compliance Officer, including serving as co-chair (along with the ISO) of the Information Security and Privacy (IS&P) Committee.

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is looking for an exceptional candidate for a unique Research Associate position. This position affords the exciting opportunity to be part of a research effort at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute aiming to delineate epigenomic aberrations in cancer and discover novel therapeutic targets. The candidate will assist in the development of cancer models from primary human tumors and human cell lines that represent different cellular lineages and drug-resistant states. He/she will use modern next generation sequencing techniques to characterize the chromatin state of these tumors and modern functional perturbation techniques including lentiviral knockdown and genome editing tools. He/she will test the model systems in immuno-compromised mice for their ability to form tumors and to test for drug responses. Must be able to work in a team environment and contribute to other studies. May be asked to assist in some technical support duties. The Research Assistant’s efforts will primarily be focused on conducting medical record reviews, interacting with study participants in person and via phone, communicating and working with study personnel at other institutions, monitoring patient accrual numbers at sites, conducting interviews and administering surveys, maintaining regulatory documents, and tracking all study documentation and communication. The RA will work with other Research Assistants, Project Managers, and a variety of clinicians and researchers to accomplish the aims of the projects.     This study will be launching very soon. The Research Scientist will report directly to Sapna Syngal, MD, MPH, who serves as for the Director of Research for The Center for Cancer Genetics and Prevention (CCGP) at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and the Leader of The Cancer Risk and Disparities Program (CaRD) at the Dana-Farber / Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC). The CCGP at the DFCI was one of the first clinical cancer genetics and prevention programs in the world. The Center offers genetic testing, counseling, and expert care for adult and pediatric cancer patients, survivors, previvors (patients who do not have cancer but tested positive for a mutation), and those with a family history of cancer. Our team also leads innovative research that helps to unravel the complexities of inherited cancers and uncover new methods of risk reduction. The CaRD program at the DF/HCC supports research aimed at reducing cancer risk and disparities across the lifespan. The Program’s role is to elucidate underlying reasons why certain individuals and populations bear excess risk of cancer and to devise interventions to lower risk. The Research Scientist will be responsible for enhancing productivity of the CCGP and the CaRD program through providing facilitative and scientific operational support. He/she will partner closely with Dr. Syngal daily and will manage the execution of projects and tasks across all facets of operations, including day-to-day management, special initiatives, and oversight of deadlines.
