Heme Malignancies Nurse Director:

1.Establish, support, maintain program nurse role

  1. Build consensus on priorities, expectations, and metrics
  2. Advocate for resources based on metrics and disease group needs
  3. Ensure relationship based care outcomes
  4. Support patient care across settings


2. Documentation Design & Monitoring


  1. Support and monitor phone documentation
  2. Standardization, and implementation, in collaboration with Nursing education and Cell Therapies QA team, of nursing documentation tools for cell therapies


3. Quality Management

  1. Participate in patient experience review, telephone as well as care transitions
  2. Oversee Cell Therapy deviation reporting unique to cell therapies and oversee corrective action plan in collaboration with QA and others in the team based work environment; assist with RCAs as needed
  3. Participate in quality improvement projects and patient experience enhancement efforts; QI projects must be reported annually to support payer contracts and FACT accreditation
  4. Assist Cell Therapy outcomes data teams with questions about nursing documentation


4. Accreditation


  1. Orientation and training for cell therapies specific requirements across settings including community.
  2. Participate in policy review, quality monitoring, data capture and process efficiency for FACT across Outpatient, Inpatient, Kraft, CMCF, Community
  3. Magnet, JC, ASCO QOPI

5. Program workflow support


  1. Lead the effort to design, customize, and implement the nursing component for the new cell therapies case management and outcomes system OTTR to be implemented over the course of FY18; oversee workflow redesign an implementation for nursing
  2. Participate in shared care template modeling for nursing component, including participation in development of special templates of monitoring and care for international partners as these affiliations are developed
  3. Participate in huddles, weekly case management and sign-out meetings for transplant and other cell therapies; participate in special case review medical team decision making


6. Professional Development


  1. Oversight and support of Cell therapy training, certification and committee/conference involvement.
