A full-time position is available for a highly motivated research technician to examine translational aspects of leukemia and lymphoma, including how cancer cells evade the immune system. The laboratory uses a variety of biochemical, cell biology, and translational approaches to identify new therapeutic targets and develop preclinical models. The technician will be responsible for mouse husbandry, and thus the candidate should have meticulous record keeping and organizational skills. This position will require comfort and ease with mouse models including techniques such as venipuncture, tail vein injections, autopsy and genotyping. Our animal facility will also teach and oversee these skills so the candidate should be eager and excited to learn new animal handling techniques. In addition, the candidate will likely learn cell culture, basic handling of DNA and RNA, including PCR, and flow cytometry. Training is available in all procedures; some experience in the above techniques is preferred.
