A position is available for an experienced research technician in a protein biochemistry and structural biology laboratory at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Applicant should be experienced in basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, sub-cloning, plasmid purification, etc) and cell culture. Experience in protein purification and/or insect cell culture highly desired but not absolutely required.
We use biochemical and structural methods to study the structure and regulation of kinases that are important in cancer. We are especially interested in understanding how cancer-causing mutations lead to loss of normal kinase regulation, and in using structural approaches to develop new anticancer drugs.

This position will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, this position will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.
