Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Social Media Coordinator helps manage the Jimmy Fund’s social media presence across a variety of social media platforms, including developing content, monitoring channels, and analyzing campaign performance.

Responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help manage the Jimmy Fund’s social media presence across a wide variety of social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, and Snapchat.
  • Develop and maintain social media calendar to proactively schedule and track what events/programs should be promoted and when.
  • Produce social media strategies and post plan campaigns of programs within portfolio.
  • Analyze and report out on programs within portfolio. Serve as social media lead for program Wrap-Up Marketing Reports for programs within portfolio. Present findings.
  • Work with a cross-functional team and outside vendors to design and deliver impactful social media campaigns.
  • Monitor and respond to conversations on our social media channels when appropriate.
  • Be “in the know” and a reliable resource for how other nonprofits are using social media for fundraising and awareness initiatives. Work with Assistant Director, Social Media on developing new fundraising and awareness initiatives based on findings.
  • Build, monitor, and analyze Facebook ads, promoted posts, and other social media promotions.
  • Monitor trends and new developments in social media. Research ways to attract more followers so our messages are reaching a larger audience.
  • Play an active role in social media measurement, analytics, and reporting.
  • Attend Jimmy Fund events for on-site social media needs to help generate event promotion.
  • Be proactive in finding compelling patient content for future social media posts
  • Perform other duties, as necessary. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to Assistant Director, Social Media. Has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required and at least 2-3 years of experience in online social media communications. Previous experience coordinating marketing programs and online communities on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube. Have a good understanding of how social media fits into an overall marketing strategy. Excellent writing and communications skills required. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail with proven capability to manage multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines are necessary.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Experience working with both Windows and Mac OS X, and HTML. Experience with Photoshop and Dreamweaver a plus. Must exercise significant judgment and confidentiality in prospect research and reporting activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Workstation in typical office setting. Works on deadline. Some assignments will require evening and weekend work. Some use of personal vehicle for work-related purposes may be necessary.
