The laboratory of Dr. Alessandra Biffi at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Gene Therapy Program, is seeking an energetic, efficient, and resourceful person who will organize laboratory operations, and provide critical support to the principal investigator (PI) and her team.

Responsibilities

 

 

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: providing operations support to postdoctoral fellows and graduate students including training technical procedures in vivo and overseeing the day-to-day infrastructure of the laboratory to optimize processes, SOP and protocol writing, managing research projects in neurodegenerative diseases and coordinating resources internally and externally.  Wet lab duties include cell culture, vector production and molecular biology. He/she will work on projects aimed at developing innovative gene therapy protocols for the treatment of lysosomal and neurodegenerative disorders with a highly motivated team.

 

 

Will  train and mentor junior staff and be responsible for project management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required with a major in biology or chemistry preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of information and techniques related to either biology, chemistry, or medicine is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work with a wide variety of faculty and staff.
  • Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
