Responsibilities

 

This Administrative Director position is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing inter-institutional programs to grow and improve the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center (DF/BC Cancer and Blood Disorders Center), in accordance with the philosophy and goals and the mission and values of Boston Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
  • Serving as administrative liaison for Pediatric Hematology / Oncology faculty and nursing leadership, as well as for senior administrative leadership at both institutions.
  • Collaborating with senior hospital management, clinicians, and staff to achieve programmatic goals, and measuring and tracking effectiveness of individual programmatic efforts.
  • Synthesizing of expert clinical/management knowledge and practice responsibility to remain current in the disciplines of the hospital, outpatient clinics, and management.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have:

  • The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Master's degree in health care or business administration or a closely related field and six to ten years’ experience.
  • The analytical skills to resolve administrative, clinical, legal, and financial issues that require the innovative application of the highest levels of specialized knowledge and/or to develop financial and operating plans for a major clinical program.
  • The ability to effectively operate in a matrixed organization and manage, persuade, and negotiate with senior faculty, senior administrators, and peer level administrative leaders and/or with external agencies/facilities on issues and programs that impact assigned department as well as several other large departments/divisions.
