Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Donor Relations Recognition Officer works collaboratively as a member of the Development & the Jimmy Fund team to help the department meet its annual fundraising goals. The Officer works with the entire Donor Relations’ team on recognition and stewardship programs for a VIP donor base consisting of major, foundation, corporate, and historic donors.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with and/or manage donor recognition initiatives and projects, such as:

    • Membership management for donor giving societies and committees, including tracking, mailings, and facilitation of member information collection with frontline fundraisers;

    • Coordination of the Patient Partner program, including patient recruitment, partner tracking, and health checks;
    • Donor recognition gift program coordination, including creation and updating of a gifts catalog, development of custom gift ideas, creation and ordering of gifts, adherence to recognition guidelines and standards, and gift tracking in ClearView for all delivered gifts;
    • Annual Honor Roll of Donors list compilation and review process across all business units and external partners;
    • Space inventory for recognition opportunities across the DFCI campus, including annual review of all named spaces and displays, review and tracking of campus changes affecting spaces, and ongoing updates to business units;
    • Installation and maintenance of signage, recognition displays, donor recognition walls, displays, and galleries across the DFCI campus, including coordination with business units, vendors, and Facilities and Real Estate Management to create mock-ups, fabricate samples, facilitate cost quotes, secure approvals, schedule installations, and oversee invoicing;
    • Naming opportunity description writing, including pricing and location details;
    • Photography of all named spaces and signage, and oversight of Portfolio database process;
    • Campus tour document review and updating, as well as tour trainings for Development staff;
    • Project time tracking in QuickBase system; and
    • Procedures and systems documentation for all projects for internal use.
  • Responsible for assisting the entire department, including business units, to reach annual financial goals.

  • Assume other duties as necessary.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to Assistant Director, Donor Relations
  • The position is programmatic in nature and a considerable amount of autonomy in decision-making and completing work-related tasks is required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years experience, preferably in a Development setting

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Superior organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with database management
  • Effective in working with wide audiences, including highest level of DFCI constituents

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Workstation located in typical office setting. Some evening and weekend work required. Local travel may be required.
