The Breast Oncology Program at the Susan F. Smith Center for Women's Cancers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks to hire a full-time Research Project Manager (RPM) to provide day-to-day management of a research project(s) focused on biological and psychosocial aspects related to cancer diagnosis and treatment through survivorship care. The RPM will report directly to Associate Director (AD) and will be responsible for providing support for ongoing projects as well as planned research studies. As directed, the RPM will oversee all aspects of implementation of currently funded projects, which may include: intervention planning and oversight, working with internal and external partners; IRB and regulatory tasks; possible supervisory responsibilities; research study participant recruitment and follow up; monitoring and addressing data collection issues and flow; helping the AD track study related costs; and other administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

The RPM will be responsible for:

  • Project management
    • implement the study(ies) from the planning stage through follow-up data collection, maintaining the project’s timeline
    • oversee all data systems and ensure that protocols are implemented as outlined
    • keep the AD apprised of issues affecting and relating to staff performance, study progress and budget issues
  • Supervision of staff
    • as needed, assist with hiring and training project staff members, such as research and survey assistants
  • IRB and regulatory tasks
    • Complete and/or support the AD in all study related IRB needs
  • Project documentation/Report writing
    • assist with the annual reports and other documents as needed
  • Perform other project-related duties as needed

Qualifications

  • BA or BS, MA in public health, social sciences, or related field or equivalent work experience expected.
  • 2-4 years experience relevant to the job.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and decision making skills.
  • Experience in public health research as a project manager/director strongly preferred
  • IRB experience strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (e.g. Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) strongly preferred
