  • Overview

    The project manager for the pharmacy department is responsible for facilitating, coordinating and conducting all aspects of the portfolio of department projects.   This position will provide day-to-day oversight, management and support of the various pharmacy projects that cross pharmacy operations, information systems, technology, safety and regulatory areas. This position will ensure the appropriate infrastructure, procedures, tracking systems and dashboard to ensure projects remain on schedule. The project manager will be responsible to report on their defined deliverables to identify variances in project plan and to develop contingency plans when necessary to keep project milestones on track. Project management responsibilities also include educating staff, coordinating activities of the projects inside and outside the department, tracking metrics, developing and maintaining a project dashboard. Tasks and responsibilities are varied depending on the project aims, scope and definition.


    • Responsible for pharmacy department project coordination which includes organizing, managing and directing a portfolio of at least 30 projects
    • Collaboration with staff and departments outside of pharmacy to facilitate all stages of the project
    • Collaboration with pharmacy directors and managers to develop, design, and implement key pharmacy projects
    • Responsible for developing the systems, tools, and infrastructure needed for managing the various projects including project initiation, coordinating and managing all project activities, staff training, event tracking and developing project plans
    • Oversight of project reporting and interprets more complex data analysis
    • Presentations and preparation of project status reports
    • Development of a project plan that provides overall direction, deliverables and milestones for the project
    • Scheduling meetings, conference calls, and other project related administrative tasks


    Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of multi-project management experience required. Ability to oversee all aspects of project management scope, defined deliverables and required key performance standards.

    Highly organized, detail-oriented, and competent at project management. Strong communication skills. Ability to be flexible and excel in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment. Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and project management tool.
