This position reports directly to the Animal Resources Facility (ARF) Technical Services Manager. Key responsibilities: individual provides animal clinical care and treatment to research animals as prescribed by the ARF Technologist II and as directed by the Technical Services Manager or Attending Veterinarian. Under the direction of the Technologist II may assist in packing and shipping sentinel animals to Charles River Laboratories for diagnostic testing. Must be able to sex and wean mice, and identify animals by ear punch, ear tag number or toe clip. Maybe asked to assist in some technical support duties. Must be able to understand and follow ARF standard operating procedures and DFCI institutional guidelines and policies. Individual must understand and follow the local, state, federal and regulations and guidelines.
