Responsibilities

A full-time post-doctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Crompton in the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our translational and basic research efforts. Our research focuses on identifying new treatment approaches for patients with pediatric sarcomas as well as translating genomic sequencing approaches for clinical application in pediatric solid tumors. The fellow will work with in vitro and in vivo models of pediatric cancers to identify and validate new therapeutic candidates for Ewing sarcoma and other aggressive pediatric solid tumors. The candidate will also develop new tools for interpreting the biologic significance of genomic data from patient tumors. The candidate will interact and collaborate closely with other laboratory-based scientists and computational biologists across the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Broad Institute.

Qualifications

PhD, MD, or MD/PhD

Familiarity with laboratory techniques and principles of molecular biology

Knowledge of computers and experience with databases

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment required

Two year commitment is required.
