The Clinical Operations and Business Analytics (COBA) team at Dana-Farber is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to spearhead strategic analytics initiatives to inform strategic decision makers across the Institute. The Analyst will be tasked with empowering stakeholders and addressing key pharmacy, cell therapies, communications, facilities and human resources operational and business inquiries through the generation of powerful tools and analytics.
The Clinical Operations and Business Analytics (COBA) team is a subdivision of the DFCI Informatics and Analytics department led by the Chief Health Information Officer. Given access to an extraordinary range of healthcare and operational data (including medical and pharmacy charges, enrollment, EMR, scheduling, billing, referral and laboratory results), the COBA team is relied upon to drive the transformation of data into valuable and actionable insights. The Analyst’s team supports a wide range of areas such as patient care and operations in pharmacy, cellular therapies, communications, information systems, human resources and occupational health.
The COBA Team at Dana-Farber is currently seeking 1-2 new team members at the Analyst or Senior Analyst level, depending on level of experience.
The Business Intelligence Analyst must develop an in-depth understanding of our data and data structures as well as the ability to translate specifications into programming logic and create visualizations and reports. In addition, the Business Intelligence Analyst must have excellent communication skills and ability to engage and educate the analytic community on how to leverage the variety of data sources. The Analyst will be expected to take the lead on new projects, function independently within a fast-paced environment, work on several different projects/tasks concurrently and serve as a data advisor to COBA team and project teams as new projects or ad hoc reports are collaboratively being developed. Assignments will include complex data analysis projects that can be multi-disciplinary or interdepartmental. The Analyst will also collaborate with the Data Management team to address data requirements for analytic reporting. The senior analyst will work with a variety of tools (ex: SAS, SQL, Excel, Oracle, Tableau etc) to access data, write queries, develop programming logic, run reports, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to meet the needs of institute.
