Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) is committed to providing outstanding departmental management to DFCI faculty engaged in research. The purpose of the Departmental Grants Management Specialist (DGMS) is to provide support to faculty preparing grant applications (Sponsored Research) and managing finances of the faculty portfolio after the award (Finance).
Sponsored Research includes discovering funding opportunities, reviewing sponsor eligibility and application requirements and being responsible for the entire award application excluding scientific content.
Finance includes managing accounts associated with grants, gifts, clinical trials, strategic centers, and other types of funding. This position provides financial oversight, guidance, analysis and support to faculty. This role will also support faculty by working with Human Resources to coordinate the recruitment and onboarding of laboratory staff.
This is an exciting opportunity for the appropriate candidate to foster professional and supportive working relationships with faculty and colleagues throughout the Institute. In addition to the grant management responsibilities described above, the position will also include special projects within the department and across departments as they arise.
