  • Overview

    The Center for Cancer Genetics and Prevention at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is looking for a Research Project Manager to work on a new large-scale research study.  This position is responsible for overseeing a multi-center project related to cancer prevention, early identification of individuals at high risk of cancer, and biorepository collections. This position requires familiarity or experience with clinical research, interacting with patients, and experience with data curation and management.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for day-to-day oversight and management aspects of a new multi-center research study as well as additional research study related duties as assigned.
    • Facilitate project start-up and conduct for a multi-center study.
    • Designs processes for maintaining timely, complete and high quality data collection.
    • May be responsible for scheduling research team meetings and conference calls, facilitating mailings, maintaining project timelines, and other project-related administrative tasks.
    • Determine patient eligibility, including data extraction from electronic medical records and may be responsible for recruitment, consenting and enrollment of study participants.
    • Responsible for data management which may include database design and the creation of data dictionaries. Create and maintain study-related databases, and prepare protocol-related reports as needed.
    • Collaborates with disease-specific faculty investigators and other team members on data transfers, data cleaning, creating and analyzing large datasets and other data management issues relevant to epidemiological research
    • Responsible for IRB submissions, correspondence, and regulatory binders, including administrative amendments.
    • May be responsible for specimen collection.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Public Health or related field with 2-4 years related experience required, OR a Master of Public Health or Master of Science degree in Epidemiology or Biostatistics with 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
    • Experience interacting with patients preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

     

    • Knowledge of cancer as a disease process, with an interest in Cancer Genetics
    • Must have experience with database development and data analysis.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required.
    • Must have computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office.
    • Skilled at managing, analyzing and interpreting large clinical datasets.
    • Familiarity with statistical analysis software including SAS, Stata and R software.
    • Experience with Progeny and REDCap preferred.
