    The pharmacy supervisor directs the daily operations and staff of the satellite to ensure high-quality patient care is provided in compliance with all laws, regulations, and Institute policies and practices.  The supervisor works with other members of pharmacy leadership to coordinate and administer quality assurance and quality control initiatives as well as help develop, implement and administer policies and procedures.  The supervisor hires satellite staff and coordination onboarding and ongoing competency assessment.  The supervisor will also provide staffing in the satellite when needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversight of daily operations
    • Developing staff work schedules
    • Approving payroll
    • Communication with satellite staff including providers, nurses and other members of the health care team
    • Participate in ongoing review of policies and procedures
    • Participate and lead quality improvement projects
    • Work with the medication safety officer to review, follow-up and develop required mitigation strategies to ensure safe medication use processes
    • Provides clinical support to staff and satellite location
    • Participate in department and mutlidisciplinary committees as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required
    • 5 years of hospital pharmacy, 2 years of oncology experience and 1 year in a leadership role or equivalent
    • Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
