    Responsibilities

    Postdoctoral research position using chemical approaches to solve biological problems. The lab’s interests are in the development of chemical technologies for the modulation of protein-protein interactions. The position is for a synthetic organic chemist who will work closely with chemical and molecular biologists in designing, synthesizing, and assaying molecules for their intended biological effects. Synthetic chemistry work will involve methodological development of chemical reactions and synthetic strategies as well as compound library synthesis for biological screening. Candidates should have a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry. For additional information see the Kim Lab’s website at kimlab.dana-farber.org.

    Qualifications

    Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry. Candidates should have experience in small molecule synthesis at the micromole to tens of millimole scale, in purification techniques using HPLC and flash chromatography, in analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry, NMR (1D and 2D, including HSQC, HMBC, NOESY, ROESY, etc.), UV/VIS, IR spectroscopy, and in both solution and solid-phase peptide synthesis. Experience with mass spectrometry and running biological assays is a plus. Candidates should be fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
