    The Cell Manipulation Core Facility (CMCF) is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant II for the Pasquarello Tissue Laboratory (PTL). The Clinical Lab Assistant II is responsible for the communication with clinical staff and researchers concerning the banking and transactions of research samples.They also assist with the materials management for PTL, CMCF.


    The schedule for this position is M-F, 9:30a-6P and 10:30-7pm on the Friday before a 3 day weekend- potentially.

    • Logs in research samples for cryopreservation and storage
    • Processes research samples for cryopreservation and storage which is comprised of blood, bone marrow and lymph node specimens
    • Enters sample information into database and performs sample searches.
    • Retrieves samples and data from other departments, as required
    • Catalogs and maintains sample inventory in logs and databases.
    • Assist with the distribution and shipment of samples for special protocols.
    • Transports products and samples between Brigham and Women's Hospital, the Kraft Family Donor Center and DFCI Lab control.
    • Reagent preparation, cell counting, tumor dissociation, Ficolling of blood and bone marrow samples.
    • Performs low complexity lab procedures with appropriate training.
    • Assists other lab staff, as required.
    • Performs various quality control procedures on equipment. Reports unexpected findings to the appropriate supervisor.
    • Precept staff on techniques, perform receipt and quarantining of Materials management as well as moving stock and preparing kits, write deviations, troubleshoot problems and problem solve, aid in the execution of validations and QC tasks.
    • Staff may be required to be on-call for equipment monitoring.


    • High School diploma and previous laboratory experience required.
    • Math skills required for cell counting, reagent prep and dissolutions.
    • Working knowledge of computer systems required.
    • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
