    The Health Systems Engineer leads process improvement projects for various stakeholders at the Institute. The Engineer acts as a subject matter expert in process improvement tools and techniques and will serve as a resource to Program staff in creating safe, reliable and efficient processes. He/She will work closely with team members to ensure completion of process improvement initiatives on time.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the Process Improvement team in the Quality and Patient Safety Department and other stakeholders to plan and execute high priority initiatives.
    • Act as a subject matter expert in process engineering for the stakeholders.
    • Partner with stakeholders to plan, analyze, and execute process improvement initiatives.
    • Coach project stakeholders on planning and implementing effective workflow support and data capture strategies.
    • Interact frequently with program leaders, staff, and other clinical staff to effectively implement process improvement initiatives.
    • Create project artifacts and deliverables, such as process flow maps, data analysis, models and reports.
    • Develop, organize, and summarize materials for presentations.
    • Present project data, analyses, and updates to key stakeholder groups independently, as requested.
    • Collaborate with team members and academic institutions to support projects
    • In collaboration with the Director, develop and deliver curriculum for staff process improvement training programs.
    • Perform all other related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required with formal training in Industrial and Systems Engineering or relevant experience.
    • 1-2 years of professional experience.
    • Demonstrated process engineering expertise, especially related to the application of industrial engineering and operations research tools and techniques.
    • Experience working in healthcare process improvement, especially familiarity with process mapping and design of new workflows.
    • Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
    • Experience managing and implementing change, particularly through quality and process improvement initiatives.
