The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a highly motivated research technician to join a laboratory studying tumor immunology in humans and mice with an emphasis on myeloid cell biology and therapeutic target discovery. You will be working with Dr. Arlene Sharpe, a world leader in cancer immunotherapy, and a senior researcher in her lab, Dr. Brian Miller. As a research assistant, your duties will include molecular cloning, cell culture, extensive work with mice, and processing of human samples. You will work closely with the principal investigator and other scientists at Harvard Medical School, the Broad Institute, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and will function largely independently on a daily basis after training. Your work will be central to several major research projects, and co-authorship on high-impact publications is expected.
This position will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, this position will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.
