    The Strategic Market Analyst will serve as the institutional expert in comprehensive market data. The Analyst will be a resource for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of market data throughout Dana-Farber. The Analyst will also support interdisciplinary initiatives tied to the Institute’s strategic plan, exercising considerable initiative and independence. The Analyst will report to the Director of Market Intelligence and Performance Improvement.

     

    The Clinical Planning and Business Development (CPBD) department leads clinical business development projects, supports key interdisciplinary clinical planning projects, and oversees the development of the Institute's growing network of satellite clinics, physician practices, Cancer Care Collaborative sites, and integrated hospital system affiliate relationships. The Market Intelligence team within CPBD leverages data to analyze the position of DFCI, its affiliate organizations, and competitors in the market, and to track and interpret trends in the oncology clinical care market.

    Responsibilities

    Compile and analyze data in the following areas:

    • Legislative
    • Insurance products
    • Employer groups
    • Provider risk organizations
    • Patient demographics
    • Market demographics
    • Market share
    • National registries
    • Internal databases

    Additional responsibilities:

    • Produce regular reports of analyzed market data
    • Develop and maintain resources that can be accessed throughout the Institute
    • Present information with varying levels of complexity to meet the needs of different audiences
    • Leverage market data from various sources to inform Institute clinical growth strategy, including payor, policy, landscape, and scientific advances and general market trends
    • Serve as Institute expert on comprehensive market data; inform Institute clinical growth planning and strategy
    • Prepare Quarterly Market Intelligence report by monitoring developments in local, regional, and national health care markets and highlighting key updates for executives and stakeholders
    • Present market updates and trends to groups at varying levels throughout the Institute
    • Develop long-term goals and strategies that align Dana-Farber with market trends and strategies that align Dana-Farber with market trends

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Master’s degree in health care administration, business, or related field is strongly preferred
    • Minimum of one to three years related work experience in the healthcare industry

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Strong knowledge of healthcare market trends
    • Excellent analytic skills and a strong ability to present data in a clear manner
    • Ability to distill or add complexity to presentations based on outstanding written and oral communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization
    • Capable of managing complex assignments and working independently
    • Strong computer skills and ability to understand and manipulate new data sources quickly
