    The Pharmacy Application Specialist will support and participate in pharmacy computer application projects and initiatives. The Specialist will work collaboratively with the pharmacy Information Systems team. This position will support various aspects of the pharmacy computer applications including selection, implementation and ongoing maintenance.  The Specialist will also provide support initial and ongoing user support.

    Responsibilities

    • Works closely with pharmacy IS team to provide support for on-going pharmacy applications.
    • Provides first line support to pharmacy staff for any systems related issues/malfunctions and then reports this as needed to the help desk.
    • Participates in the development, implementation and on-going support of IS projects.
    • Participates in the implementation of pharmacy system applications or upgrades.
    • Responsible for QA testing for system enhancements, bug fixes or upgrades.
    • Provides users of the pharmacy applications with regular updates.
    • Assists in the selection of any vendor packages or upgrades as it relates to pharmacy applications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related field experience required

    • Clinical background in pharmacy or health care field required

    • Two years of IS experience required

    • Experience in pharmacy applications preferred

    • Well organized & systematic in work process

    • Excellent personal computer skills

    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work effectively and interact with colleagues from various organizational levels and from various disciplines

    • Excellent written and verbal skills
