    The compliance pharmacist will support the work of the pharmacy regulatory compliance manager to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy.  This includes, but is not limited to. USP, Joint Commission, DPH, DEA, FDA, and Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.  The pharmacist will ensure changes to regulations are incorporated into policies/procedures and staff are educated about any changes.  The pharmacist will also be responsible for initial and ongoing training of staff at all locations.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures compliance with current regulations in the areas of IV compounding, narcotics, safe handling of medications
    • Oversees cleanroom regulatory activity such as hood certifications, media fill tests, fingertip testing and environmental monitoring
    • Provides regulatory training and education to staff
    • Performs staff audits
    • Ensures QA/QC tasks are completed
    • Maintains pharmacy regulatory policies and procedures
    • Manages narcotic inventory and associated processes
    • Participates in pharmacy and Institute committees

    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy and must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 
    • 3 to 5 years of hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy experience is required as well as a minimum of 2 years of oncology experience or the completion of a PGY-2 specialty residency.

    Pharmacy regulatory experience preferred.
