This position will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, this position will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.
Research Technician – Center for Cancer Evolution at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to focus on the experimental arm of the CCE. The principal mission of the CCE is to develop and validate mathematical modeling strategies of tumor evolution and treatment response, and eventually utilize these strategies to identify best therapeutic intervention practices. We hope insights gained through the CCE’s research will ultimately allow for improved cancer therapies to improve patients’ lives. The research technician would be principally responsible for data collection to allow for detailed modeling experiments. The responsibilities of this position will include evaluating new therapeutic targets, experimentally validating theoretical models, characterizing cell and cell line properties, performing single cell lineage tracing experiments and analyzing clinical cancer tissue samples along with appropriate documentation of results. The research technician will have the unique opportunity to support tumor modeling studies that will influence our understanding of cancer evolution, as well as participate in the research and design of even better methods if desired.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to work within a team, flexibility and responsibility are all key for this position. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will pursue advanced doctoral training (MD, PhD or MD/PhD) subsequent to this position.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual with a BA or BS degree in a related field. Experience in cell culturing, and with immunoblotting are desirable. In addition to technical and scientific knowledge, this individual should have good organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills as well as excellent organizational skills, ability to work within a team, flexibility and responsibility are all key for this position
