     The Performance Improvement Manager/Sr. Manager will guide and implement efforts to ensure that performance improvement (PI) programs are developed and managed using a data-driven focus which sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives.

    The Manager/Senior Manager will report to the Director of Market Intelligence and Performance Improvement and will work closely with Institute leadership and staff working on performance improvement initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Participates and/or leads teams, work groups, projects, and activities designed to improve operational performance and processes.
    • Facilitates work groups and meetings with senior stakeholders to design and develop process improvements
    • Researches opportunities for performance improvement, establishes plans, and coordinates teams in achieving performance improvement for the assigned area of responsibility.
    • Develop framework and methodology for proposing, approving, and reviewing projects and programs.
    • Establish a consistent methodology and approach for defining project requirements, including scope, schedule, resources, budget, and deliverables
    • Manages multiple projects and can work at various levels of the organization.
    • Can manage large scale projects through the entire project life cycle;has breadth of knowledge to acquire data, develop insights, draw action plans and coach departments to their targets.
    • Establishes metrics for managing, tracking and sustaining project performance to desired goals; interface with project leads or project managers to review and monitor work plans and assess implications of any challenges or obstacles to ensure successful execution
    • Develops business case justifications, cost/benefit/risk analyses for all projects and programs; evaluate, track and monitor each project according to a defined return on investment (ROI)

     

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Clinical or healthcare background preferred
    • 5-8 years' experience in project and program management, designing and carrying out performance improvement plans
    • Experience within and understanding for the evolving healthcare market preferred
    • Health care/managed care and consulting experience strongly preferred
    • Experience with healthcare data analytics that are foundational to performance improvement

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • MHA/MBA preferred
    • LEAN and/or Six Sigma Training strongly preferred
    • Ability to work in both clinic and hospital environment
    • Highly accurate, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, multi task oriented, and exhibit excellent judgment and problem-solving skills with an ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Demonstrated expertise in management, systems, operational, and financial analysis
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data / reports to present an in-depth understanding of portfolio performance
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of program management tools, techniques and best practices
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop effective presentations and written reports
    • Ability to facilitate and collaborate with senior clinical, operational and administrative leaders
    • Ability to build consensus; politically astute in resolving conflict and leading change
    • Excellent organization and time management skills
    • Expertise in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required
    • Proficient with Microsoft Project
