    Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated person to join the Fischer Lab at a position of Lab Operations Manager. The Fischer Lab is within the Department of Cancer Biology and is located in the Longwood Center research building.  Research in the laboratory focuses on exploring the ubiquitin proteasome system for new avenues of therapeutic intervention, and the study of fundamental processes in ubiquitin signaling using structural biology, chemical biology, and biochemistry. The multi-disciplinary research involves a wide variety of techniques and equipment from automated high content imaging, high-throughput screening, X-ray crystallography, single particle cryo-EM microscopy to mass spectrometry-based proteomics, and the Fischer lab operates most of the necessary equipment. The Fischer lab also routinely engages in large academic-industry collaborations.

The successful candidate would work closely with / and support Dr. Fischer and other PIs in managing the overall lab functions and day to day operations: Ensure all essential lab functions, equipment planning and maintenance, space allocation and training of lab members on core principles and procedures. In addition the individual would work closely with the Dr. Fischer and other PIs and senior lab staff to support projects, collaborations, and partnering with industry. A key function would be the continuous development of the lab as a state of the art environment for cutting edge science, which involves long-term planning of equipment needs and new technologies as well as space considerations.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant environment and at the cutting edge of basic science and drug discovery both within the lab and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as well as through collaboration with external laboratories and industry.
