  • Overview

    The Office of Research Integrity provides faculty and staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with information, training, guidance and/or services in the following areas:

    Conflict of Interest policies and regulations

    Review of Outside Activities/Consulting Agreements for Faculty

    Research Scientist Track Appointments and Promotions

    Research Integrity Issues, including the policy for Responding to Allegations of Research Misconduct

    Responsible Conduct of Research

    Responsibilities

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Financial Conflict of Interest Transactional Reviews

    • Assist ORI Director with conflict of interest evaluations; Just-in-time award analysis
    • Responsible for research and analysis of benchmarking data on Conflict of Interest Policy initiatives
    • Communicate with faculty about Conflict of Interest training requirements as required by PHS regulations and institutional policies; Verify training completion in CITI database
    • Participate in meetings with faculty, senior personnel, and colleagues at affiliate institutions regarding conflicts of interest, institutional policies and new initiatives regarding the same.
    • Liaison to Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health regarding faculty outside activities reporting.
    • Update/manage ORI intranet site (via Contribute)
    • Update/manage faculty profiles for dana-farber.org (via Profile Directory Administration database), which may include public posting of outside activities information
    • Test/update/manage ORI’s Outside Activities Disclosure System and liaison with Click personnel to address system upgrades and performance issues.
    • Facilitate/manage DFCI Scientific Appointments (verifying publications; creation/execution of final appointment letter; Liaise between Scientist Appointment and Promotions Committee, ORI Director and administrative personnel.
    • Administration of Conflicts of Interest Committee: scheduling, committee correspondence, meeting minutes. Establish metrics and track internally.
    • Scheduling/organizing for various ORI meetings.
    • Administration / maintenance of Ask ORI / DFCI Consulting mailboxes (responding to requests)
    • Management of faculty agreement tracking, organization, archiving, metrics

     

     

    • Institutional Conflict of Interest Database Management
    • Working with the Belfer Office for Dana-Farber Innovation, evaluate and track institutional interests in licensed compounds, technologies and inventions and in their licensees for review and, where appropriate, management by the Institutional Conflict of Interest Committee and the relevant Institutional Review Boards.
    • Assist in tracking and monitoring institutional conflict of interest (ICOI) management plans.
    • Assist in preparation of meeting materials and the development of education and guidance around ICOI issues, particularly as related to DFCI licensing activities.
    • Develop and update a database that may be accessible and utilized by the various stakeholders to be notified of and to evaluate potential ICOI concerns in research.

      • Lead special projects identified by the Director of Research Integrity and Research Administration leadership.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree required – Advanced degree strongly preferred.
