To provide varying degrees of administrative support to a member of the Executive Management Group, which may include typing, filing, scheduling meetings, managing subordinate support staff, acting as liaison with other Institute executives, developing policies and procedures, independently completing projects as assigned.
The position provides all levels of administrative and some managerial support for multiple junior/senior faculty members and their laboratories in the Department of Cancer Biology. Duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating meetings and seminars, managing calendars, drafting and sending correspondences, formatting CVs and processing Harvard appointments, maintaining lab rosters and training tables, making travel arrangements, reconciling monthly p-card statements and processing employee expense reports and reimbursements, preparing PowerPoint slides, ordering and maintaining office equipment and supplies, and assisting faculty with recruitment and orientation of new lab staff. The hire is a member of the Cancer Biology Business Office and reports directly to the Department Administrator or Business Manager. He/She will participate in Business Office projects, assist with large grant applications, provide training for new administrative staff and coverage for other administrative positions during absences, and assist with conference projects.
