The Walensky laboratory of cancer chemical biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking an energetic, efficient, and resourceful Administrative Specialist who will provide critical administrative and managerial support to the principal investigator (PI) in his multidisciplinary roles as a physician, scientist, and educator.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: providing operations support to postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, overseeing the day-to-day infrastructure of the laboratory to optimize processes (laboratory website maintenance, collaborations, intellectual property filings, database management), organizing research and student gatherings/events, arrange PI travel, provide organizational support to laboratory and educational program personnel, and take on special projects. The successful applicant will serve as a critical liaison and coordinator for the principal investigator in his duties as clinician, laboratory PI, and Director of the Harvard/MIT MD-PhD program.
Specific skills and personal attributes required include: high energy and upbeat multi-tasker, supremely organized with exquisite attention to detail, independent thinker and doer, exemplary written and oral communication skills, computer and technology savvy, impeccable people skills a must.
BA required, strong administrative interests or background a plus, along with superior computer, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
