    The positions in this job family perform a variety of tasks to ensure that project goals are being met for a faculty member's research program. Tasks and responsibilities are varied and dependent upon project aims, scope and duration.


    • Under general supervision, the Research Assistant I may be responsible for some or all of the following:


      • Conduct medical record reviews for a variety of cancer types with a focus on tracking the trajectory of patient care and outcomes after a cancer diagnosis.
      • Collect and enter research data.
      • Recruit and consent patients to participate in clinical and socio-behavioral research studies.
      • Assist the study team in developing study interventions (including chemotherapy educational materials)
      • Assist the study team in developing a new pain management phone app for patients.
      • Maintain study databases and project documentation with organization and accuracy.
      • Assist with documentation for and communication with institutional review board; maintain regulatory documentation.
      • Maintain the security and confidentiality of all study materials and data.
      • Assist team in the coordination of project-related activities.
      • Assist with coordination and preparation of project related meetings as requested and may be responsible for meeting minutes.
      • Assist in preliminary analysis of data.
      • Conduct relevant literature searches and reviews as requested.
      • Other project-related or administrative responsibilities as requested by management.


    • Bachelor’s degree in public health, natural or social science, or pre-med preferred.  


      The ideal candidate will have education, experience, and/or interest in:

      • Working directly with patients, caregivers, and study participants
      • Conducting medical record reviews
      • Data collection and entry
      • Cancer-related research
      • Patient-centered outcomes
      • Public Health
      • Medicine
      • Bilingual language skills may be required - dependent upon study population target.
