    The Outpatient Level II Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing technical support under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Level II technician works primarily in the retail outpatient pharmacy, but may also support any other satellite location. Technician’s duties include preparing oral take home medications, manufacturing and compounding pharmaceutical products, inventory management, utilizing the various equipment and technology available in the pharmacy, performing drop-off and pick-up window duties, and performing various quality control tasks as assigned. In addition, the level II technician will participate in training and orientation of new technicians and pharmacy students.

    Responsibilities

    Primary responsibilities include the following:

    • Processes associated with filling outpatient prescriptions
    • Inventory management
    • Utilization of technology including robotics
    • Participation in quality control
    • Participation in special projects

    1. High school graduate or currently enrolled in an accredited entry-level degree program for pharmacy or related field
    2. Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as Pharmacy Intern or Pharmacy Technician.
    3. National Pharmacy Technician Certification required, with the exception of pharmacy students
    4. Two to five years of pharmacy technician experience with at least one year of outpatient/retail experience
