    The Project Manager will support infrastructure and process improvement initiatives and/or projects within the Access Management (AM) department that will deliver favorable financial results and operational efficiencies for the Institute.  The position will provide project management, research, analytic, and document management support for various revenue cycle (and related) projects.  Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are essential.    

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the AM Management Team to support business initiatives, including developing business processes, policies and procedures as they relate to the Access Management functions.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the key indicator metrics related to Access Management performance, including additional support to ensure metrics translate to effective management tools.
    • Support Access Management’s dynamic staffing model.
    • Identify areas of improvement within the revenue cycle to ensure operational efficiencies and maximize revenue while complying with payer and regulatory guidelines.
    • Conduct detailed analyses of data and information relating to existing or proposed revenue cycle projects.
    • Summarize analytic and research findings into presentation form for review by leadership and explain/interpret results upon request.
    • Provide support to existing revenue cycle related forums and projects by managing agendas, maintaining minutes, and facilitating next steps, including inter- and intra-departmental communication.
    • Assist with the development, monitoring, and ongoing evaluation of job aids, training tools and training programs. Will play a role in implementing new policies and procedures related to the outcomes of these projects. 
    • Work with administrative areas to assess new programs or initiatives, evaluating Medicare and commercial insurance coverage requirements to financially clearing patients. Engage other stakeholders as necessary.
    • Oversee scheduling and timely completion of projects while working with AM Management team to mitigate barriers and risks while tracking the progress of our efforts.
    • Support ongoing strategic initiatives that impact Dana-Farber programs with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Satellite Centers, and Dana-Farber Community Cancer Care practices.
    • Collaborate with operational, clinical, and administrative areas to facilitate workflows that support clinical operations, critical to reimbursement.
    • Provide analytic and process implementation support for cross-functional initiatives relating to the electronic medical record and revenue cycle-related systems.
    • Perform other duties as assigned including managing complex projects as they arise.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Bachelors of Science/Arts required.  2+ years Revenue Cycle experience or Master’s Degree (MPH, MBA, or Master’s Degree in health care management or related field). MPH, MBA, or Master’s Degree candidates will be considered.
