This position will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, this position will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.
We are seeking a highly-motivated Research Technician who will be responsible for providing technical support for ongoing research projects.
Our research is focused on genomic characterization of multiple myeloma, and functional validation of novel targets and therapeutics in this disease using gain of- and loss of function studies, as well as in vitro and in vivo assays using large panel of cell lines and primary tumor cells. Previous experience with basic cellular and molecular research techniques including tissue culture, flow cytometry, western blotting and immunoprecipitation, extraction and analysis of DNA and RNA, PCR, RT-PCR and quantitative PCR as well as basic molecular cloning techniques are required. Additionally, she/he will assist in ordering supplies and maintaining a stock of lab reagents.
BS or master (preferred) in biology or a related field and at least 2 years of professional laboratory experience. Good organizational and interpersonal skills and a working knowledge of data management, word processing, graphic software (Excel, MS Word, Graphpad/PRISM) is preferred.
