    Responsibilities

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Donor Relations Recognition Officer works collaboratively as a member of the Development & the Jimmy Fund team to help the department meet its annual fundraising goals. The Officer works with the entire Donor Relations team on recognition and stewardship programs for a VIP donor base consisting of major, foundation, corporate, and historic donors.

     PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assist with projects and initiatives for the recognition team, such as:

    • Meeting scheduling, recording of minutes, and distribution of next steps and follow-up;
    • Collaboration with team members on specific projects such as Visiting Committee membership, named spaces, major donor recognition, gift procurement, tour training, and other projects as assigned;
    • Portfolio database management and inventory catalog of named spaces throughout the Institute;
    • Quarterly review of Institute donor recognition walls and displays;
    • Information management systems work related to all aspects of recognition including: uploading donor correspondence, updating space changes, tracking donor recognition and stewardship gifts, and making changes to donor greetings;
    • Documentation and maintenance of department processes, procedures, and forms;
    • Daily recognition activities including: maintaining donor files, filing, and assisting with periodic checks of donor named spaces;
    • Budget tracking;
    • Materials preparation for department initiatives and projects;
    • Project input to Quickbase time tracking system;
    • Other duties as necessary.

     

    SUPERVISION:

    Reports to Senior Associate Director, Donor Relations.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Desire to pursue a career in Development.

     KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; database management skills helpful
    • Effective in working with a wide range of individuals, including highest level of DFCI constituents

    Workstation located in typical office setting. Some evening and weekend work required. Local travel may be required.
