The Director of Research Pharmacy is responsible for the oersight of the operations, clinical and regulatory areas of the research pharmacy. This includes clinical trial activity at the Longwood, satellite and network locations. The Director sets goals and provides strategic direction for the research pharmacy. The Director also works closely with pharmacy leadership to ensure research pharamcy efforts are coordinated across the various areas of the pharmacy department. the Director is responsible for formulating and implementing strategies to achieve departmental and Institute wide targets both in the short and long term.
Directs research pharmacy clinical, regulatory and operational aspects on the main campus and satellite locations to esnure compliance with all laws, regulations and Institute standards.
Provides management and leadership to DFCI research pharmacy staff.
Provides guidance, support and oversight to DFCCC sites and DFCI network affiliations.
Works collaboratively with clinical trials nursing, medicine, and operations leadership to set direcion and manage operations of the department and Institute.
Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with departmental and organizational policies/procedures. Also ensures compliance with all Institute standards, state/federal regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies related to research pharmacy and investigational medication management.
Collaborates with professional staff to develop and coordinate research pharmacy quality improvement efforts.
Coordinates research pharamcy relationships with Boston Children's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Bachelor's degress or doctor of pharmacy form an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
Ten years of hospital pharamcy experience, 6 years of pharmacy amangemen and/or investigational drug experience or equivalent
Licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Certification, an advanced degree or advanced raining in specialty ares is required.
